MISSION

The Sonographer is responsible for delivering quality patient care by performing optimal renal, scrotal, penile, and female pelvic ultrasound studies in a fast-paced specialty environment.

OUTCOMES

  • Produce optimal image resolution and accurately complete diagnostic assessment for each ultrasound study in a high patient volume setting.
  • Consistently manages work load efficiently with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Exhibit sound critical thinking skills to ensure high quality patient ultrasound studies, to prioritize responsibilities, and to communicate with ancillary staff clearly and concisely.
  • Use independent judgement to deliver quality patient care, while simultaneously managing work load efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

Education:

  • Certificate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

Previous, Job Relevant Work Experience:

  • Two years of sonographer experience
  • Strong working knowledge of abdominal and pelvic anatomy and pathology

Credentials/Licensures:

  • Active license in American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), with specialty physics and abdomen/small parts

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associates/Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Previous, Job Relevant Work Experience:

  • 3+ years of sonographer experience
  • Previous experience in a Urology/Gynecology outpatient and/or hospital setting
  • Working knowledge of Konica Minolta Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) The Exa™
  • Working knowledge of eClinical Works or similar Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

Credentials/Licensures

  • Gynecology: ARDMS specialties in OB/GYN
  • Urology: ARDMS specialties in Abdomen/Small Parts
