Interventional Radiological Technologist

Job Title – Position Description: Interventional Radiological Technologist

Reports to: Clinical Manager

MISSION

The Interventional Radiological Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. They will observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity. The Interventional Radiological Technologist will facilitate procedures by prepping and maintaining the required instrumentation, supplies, and equipment. They will anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and experience.

OUTCOMES

  • Function as a scrub person during procedures while setting up and maintaining sterility, safety, and equipment.
  • Willing to learn and adopt new responsibilities based on shifting demands of providers and the medical team.
  • Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport to decontamination area
  • Maintain radiation safety at all times in accordance with facility policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the perioperative team and other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduation from Radiology Technology program
  • High School Diploma or GED

Previous, Job Relevant Work Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in interventional radiology setting

Credentials/Licensures:

  • Current BLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiology Technology
  • Specialized training in Interventional Radiology

Credentials/Licensures

  • Current ARRT Certification is a plus
  • Current RCIS Certification is a plus
